Torin Ives is a professional dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker in Chicago, IL. Originally from Michigan, she grew up competing around the country with Imprint Dance Company and was captain of her high school varsity dance team.

Torin has a degree in film from DePaul University. At DePaul, she was also on the Dance Team and helped bring the team to UDA nationals for the first time in the program’s history, placing 5 in Division 1 jazz.

After graduating, Torin used her film degree to make a documentary about collegiate dancers. She now works in post-production for films and television. Torin also teaches dance at studios in Chicago and occasionally hosts pop up classes across the Midwest.

Torin has been an ADTC Instructor Counselor for two summers, working in both Illinois and Wisconsin. She wants to help campers learn that “uniqueness is a strength” and we don’t have to be the most flexible or have the best turnout to be a great dancer.
