Leila Mahadin was born and raised in New York City where she began dance training at the age of 5. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and contemporary at a variety of schools and performed professionally in various venues including as a dancer for the NBA NJ Nets. She has trained with the Boston BalletBallet Hispanico & Broadway Dance Center.

Leila is currently the Principal Dancer with the Louise Benes Dance Company, where she also teaches ballet, jazz & hip hop & serves as Creative Director. She has also choreographed 1st & 2nd place winning routings in jazz, ballet & hip hop for various dance competitions & is responsible for creating choreography and themes for their mid year and end of year recitals as well as for various community performances throughout the year. She oversees the other dance instructors and assists them in creating their pieces for these performances as well.

Aside from dance, Leila has a masters degree in education and has worked as a classroom teacher during the school year. This has given her a more well rounded view and experience with children as well as in classroom management.
