#ADTCidol - Meet Team-Player, Sami G!

ADTC Team-Player – Meet Sami G. from NJ!

“My ADTC Superpower is the Team-Player because I am a very caring and compassionate person and I always want to help others be the best. I put others before myself.

I love to dance because it is fun and relaxing, but I also like how I’m able to express myself through movement in many different ways.

My proudest accomplishment is making my studio’s competitive team and finally reaching one of the goals that I had been striving towards for years.

I want to inspire other girls to know that it’s okay to be scared and there are always people around you who will help you as long as you ask for it. I also want girls to strive to be the best that they can be and to chase their dreams.”

ADTC: What is your True Color Personality Style?

Sami G: My color was blue and I agree with what it says about me.

ADTC: Who is your Idol?

Sami G: My idol is my mom because she always encourages me and inspires me to go for my goals everyday. She tells me to be the best you can be and these are words I now live by. She always encourages me to reach my goals and never stop trying.

ADTC: What goals are you working on right now (in both dance & life)?

Sami G: A goal that I am working on right now in dance is getting better at turns because this is something I can always get better at whether it’s the number of rotations or my technique, I can always do better with my turns. In life I am working on letting more people in, trusting them, and letting my walls come down around others.

ADTC: Tell us about a difficult situation in your life and how you got through it. What did you learn?

Sami G: A difficult situation in my life would be during the covid-19 pandemic because I was very scared about my family getting sick because my dad is compromised and I didn’t want to get him sick. I’m getting through this by keeping in touch with friends and family over the phone and through dance. I’ve learned through this experience that there are many people around me that I can lean on and ask for help when I need it.. and that I’m not going through it alone

ADTC: What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

Sami G: The most daring thing I’ve done is go on a 50-foot zipline across the ocean it was very exhilarating and scary. From that experience I’ve learned that it is better sometimes to just dive in instead of thinking about it because if you think about it then you might change your mind.

ADTC: If you’ve been to ADTC, what is your favorite dance camp memory & why?

Sami G: My favorite dance camp memory is going on girls night out because it is very fun to go out with your friends and get to dress up
