Tara Robbins is a professional performer, choreographer, and educator based in Philadelphia. She earned her MFA in Performance & Choreography from Smith College as well as her BA from Slippery Rock University. She is currently on staff at the Millennium Dance Complex in Philly.
Tara performed with the modern dance company Tania Isaac Dance. The company toured to Jacobs Pillow, Bates Dance Festival and many other venues. As a freelance choreographer, Tara has presented her work internationally throughout Spain, Guatemala, Italy, Greece, and Scotland where her work received critical acclaim.
Nationally, Tara is an award winning choreographer and has has presented her work throughout Philadelphia, New York City, California and Washington D.C. She is currently an Adjunct faculty member in the Dance Department at DeSales University, where she has been teaching since 2006.
Tara is also on faculty at JovoDance Productions, CaRu Entertainment, and the Institute of Dance Artistry. She has been invited as a master teacher/ choreographer to various venues including colleges, universities, festivals, conventions, conservatories as well as many private studios along the east coast.
Tara's class style is an an eclectic mix of pure athleticism and sheer technique with an emphasis on dynamics, musicality and performance.
