Bono Birthday Dance Tribute Presented By ADTC Dancers

Bono Birthday Dance Tribute Presented By ADTC Dancers

Today (May 10, 2016) is Bono's 56th Birthday! We decided to create this Bono birthday dance montage featuring ADTC dancers to "One Tree Hill" by U2 as a tribute to the icon.

Our dancers weren't alive in the 80s or 90s when U2 was really influencing pop culture, so moms - this video post is more for you!! And Bono, thanks for all the music & inspiring us to DANCE!

note: these dance clips were originally performed to songs by different artists, choreographed for our dance camps nationwide last summer:

Outside of music, Bono is widely known for his activism concerning Africa, for which he co-founded the ONE Campaign and Product Red. He has organized and played in several benefit concerts and has met with influential politicians.

Bono was granted an honorary knighthood by Queen Elizabeth for "his services to the music industry and for his humanitarian work", Together with Bill and Melinda Gates, Bono was named Time Person of the Year in 2005, among other awards and nominations.

Bono writes the lyrics for almost all U2 songs, which are often rich in social and political themes. During performances he attempts to interact with the crowd as often as possible and is known for pulling audience members onto the stage (he actually pulled my sister Hilary up on stage during U2's Heart Tour in 2001 because they share the same birthday!).

Happy Birthday, Bono (and my sister, Hilary!)! Thanks for doing what you love and inspiring us to do the same! We hope you enjoy our Bono Birthday Dance Tribute!
