Alivia Cotton has been dancing for more than fifteen years and currently attends Dean College School of Dance on a dance scholarship. Alivia is a national tap dance gold medalist and has performed for the last three summers on stage at the Portsmouth Percussion Dance Festival. She has performed on stage at Disney's Tomorrowland and toured with the cast of "Clara's Dream: A Jazz Nutcracker." Alivia had the distinct honor of dancing on stage at the Duke Theatre on 42nd Street for the ATDF NY City Tap Festival in 2006. As part of her current course work, Alivia is a member of the Hip Hop Company of the Dean College School of Dance where she performs monthly.
In addition to performing, Alivia has taught tap, hip hop and jazz at Capital City Dance Center in Concord, NH since 2002. Alivia is versatile and energetic, and wants to dedicate her life to kids and dance.
Alivia has gone to camps her entire life because her mother was the camp director at New England Deaf Camp in Center Barnstead, NH. Alivia's first language growing up was American Sign Language! She loves the camp experience and the magic it gives to the campers. She believes camps like ADTC "help to broaden kids' perspective of themselves within the world. It deepens their sense of community and how they can become an important member of that community, and creates life-long friendships and memories."
