WHY JAMIE ROCKS
Jamie Alexandra McCann has been dancing for 27 years and is originally from Texas where she taught jazz, tap, ballet and modern to students ages 2 to adult. In 2008, she received her MFA in Dance at the University of California Irvine where she taught jazz and social dance. Jamie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in the fall of 2000 with her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. During her dance studies at UTA she was awarded the Dance Ensemble Scholarship two years in a row and honored at the Presidents Convocation. Upon graduation she taught dance classes at UTA and directed the university's undergraduate performing company for five years. Jamie taught master classes in jazz at the American College Dance Festival South Central Region from 2002 to 2006. In addition to teaching, Jamie performed professionally with Le Cabaret Burlesque and continues to appear as a guest artist for the company when she is in Dallas. Jamie is thrilled to be returning to ADTC for our summer 2010 season!
