WHY AMY ROCKS
Amy Michele Allen earned her BA in Dance on scholarship from Loyola Marymount University where she studied with and performed works by Hinton Battle, Grover Dale, and Gilma Bustillo. She has since studied with Gelsey Kirkland, Andy Blankenbuehler, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, and River North Chicago Dance Company. Her love of dance, coupled with a love for singing and acting led her to perform with various regional theatres, Holland America Cruise Line, Tokyo Disney Sea, the National Geographic Channel and most recently with the Wicked National Tour. The touring experience allowed her the chance to work closely with Wayne Cilento and has also afforded the opportunity to teach across the country at various Universities including Michigan State University, UMass Amherst, The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Wright State University, and Webster University.
Amy has also taught and choreographed at Saddleback College, Stagedoor Manor, Loyola Marymount University, and with the COCADance Company. Amy is graduating in June with her MFA in Dance on scholarship from the University of California, Irvine. Amy has worked as an Instructor-Counselor teaching Broadway dance at both our ULTIMATE Green Mountains - Stratton, VT & ULTIMATE Sierra Mountains - Squaw Valley, CA dance camps. |
