Please note that most optional activities below require parental consent. Due to weather, availability &/or scheduling conflicts, we may be unable to offer all activities during your child's session. Campers register for activities during the Sunday afternoon team meeting (they can only register for activities if you have signed the necessary waivers!). Campers will be accompanied by ADTC staff who are trained in CPR & First Aid during each activity.
Ropes Course
Built into the hillside facing beautiful Shirley Canyon and the world famous peaks of Squaw Valley, this magnificent Ropes Course offers campers unparalleled teambuilding opportunities.
* Note: The Sky Jump Trampoline activity is operated by the Squaw Valley Adventure Center, which also oversees the Climbing Wall and Ropes Course activities - all three activities are included on the same waiver.
Cost: $40 (Offered once per week).
Kayak Trip
The staff at Tahoe City Kayak will take us for a leisurely paddle on beautiful Lake Tahoe. No prior canoeing/kayaking experience is required. Life preservers provided. CAMPER MUST BE A SELF-SUFFICIENT SWIMMER!
Cost: $60 (Offered once per week).
Candle-Making
Your own candle, created at Waxen Moon in the Village at Squaw, will have you burning with artistic creativity - and give you a memento to keep or give as a gift. Choose among a wonderful assortment of waxes, colors and scents to design the candle that best suits your luminous personality.
Cost $12 - $18 (depending on candle...Offered twice per week). Money is taken from camper's canteen account.
Climbing Wall
No matter what the weather or your ability level, you'll have a blast climbing the variety of routes and 30' high simulated rock surface at the Headwall Climbing Wall. Comprising 8 to 10 different ropes and many routes, Headwall is suitable for kids of all ages, first timers, and expert climbers.

Sky Jump Trampoline
Hook the bungees to your harness - start jumping on the trampolines - and soon you're soaring 25' in the air while performing somersaults and flips. Everyone wears a safety harness and is connected to a rope/bungee system for safety. This bungee trampoline activity is sure to send every camper to new heights and keep the kids smiling for hours.

Horseback Riding

Take an easy one-hour trail ride through the scenic woods surrounding Squaw Valley, lead by the professionals at Alpine Meadows
Stables. No prior riding experience is required. Helmets and basic riding instruction are provided. Registrants will be assigned to a day. Cost: $35 (Offered once per week).
High Camp - Ice Skating & Swimming
Yes, you can do both in the same spot! Ride the scenic Squaw Valley Cable Car up to High Camp where you can both ice skate, and take a swim overlooking the entire Tahoe basin. Spend the afternoon enjoying activities and breathtaking views. Cost: $25 (Offered twice per week).
Flying Trapeze
Take a class on the flying trapeze and by the end of your session you may even be ready to attempt a mid air connection with a catcher. No experience necessary. Cost: $30 (Offered once per week).
Swimming
In sunny weather, we'll cool down at the Squaw Valley Lodge's outdoor pool. CAMPER MUST BE A SELF-SUFFICIENT SWIMMER. No Cost (Offered daily).
Hiking
Take a hike! We'll take you on a leisurely hike in the mountains where you
can admire the natural beauty of the area and breathtaking views.
No Cost (Offered twice per week).
Tennis
Brush up your tennis game with an hour on one of the Squaw Valley Lodge's outdoor tennis courts. No Cost (Offered twice per week).

Mini Golf
Mountainside Mini Golf at the base of Squaw Valley has eighteen holes - right in the village! Cost: $10 (Offered twice per week).
World Dance Company

Campers can elect to participate in our unique "World Dance Company" and learn a special dance piece to perform in the Friday night show. Nightly rehearsals will be held from 9 - 9:55pm beginning Monday after the all-camp "World Dance Night." Participation is optional and all proceeds go to "ASTEP" (Artists Striving to End Poverty), an arts-based non-profit organization designed specifically to combat worldwide childhood poverty. Cost: $15 (Offered once per week).
