Standard First Aid with CPR - Adult & Child - Course led by a representative from the American Red Cross. Learn how to recognize and handle an emergency and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies of adults and children until advanced medical personnel take over.

“The ADTC Way” – Part 1: Objectives Mission, History, Development & Goals - This session gives a chance for all camp attendees to review the mission, history, development, and camper/staff goals of American Dance Training Camp. (pg 5; 7 – 9; 15)
“The ADTC Way” – Part 2: Character Development, Diversity Initiative, Code of Conduct & Camping Program Philosophy - This session will give attendees an even more in-depth look at the core values of the ADTC dance camp program. (pg 10 -12; 17; 21)
“The ADTC Way” – Part 3: Camp Activities & Program Statements - This session will be our first look at the ADTC program. Topics to be discussed include ADTC dance classes, ADTC shows, ADTC Teacher Certification, American Dance Idol & Dance Tech competitions, World Dance Initiative, Dance Discussions, and Dance Elective Classes (pg 90 – 108)
Joining Our Network – Grow With Us! - This session will cover topics like “Leadership Ladder,” positive/negative leadership characteristics, appropriate behavior & decision-making and “how to be an excellent staff member” and opportunities to join our network and grow with us (pg 16; 66 – 67)
General Operating Policies & Procedures - Topics of this session to include: Emergency Procedures, Behavior Management, Child Protection Plan (including abuse), Crisis Management Plan, Fire Safety, and Lost Camper Emergency Procedures. (pg 13 – 14; 118; 121; 125 – 127; 131 – 132; 136)
Misbehavior & Positive Camper Discipline - This course will cover common types of misbehavior amongst campers, including bullying and inappropriate sexual behavior – you will walk away with new strategies for handling campers who misbehave. (pg 58 – 59; 60 – 61)
Age Group Characteristics - Discuss the common characteristics of various age groups represented in the ADTC camper population. (pg 49 – 52)
Sunday
ADTC Dance Class Structure - Learn about ADTC “Dance Screening,” class set-up procedures, curriculum/teaching philosophy & teaching styles, communication with children in class, dealing with behavior problems in class and dance class safety policy (pg 78 – 89; 92)
Dance Classes & Practical Exams - Take classes taught by your fellow colleagues, learn new choreography, teach your original choreography, etc.
American Dance Idol & Dance Tech Night - Participate in these fun ADTC activities as you would at an actual camp!
