  • Review Information On This Site - Your first step to becoming a Certified ADTC Instructor is to review all the information in this section of our website.
  • Complete Staff Application & Instructor Agreement - Next, complete the ADTC Staff Application and Instructor Agreement and submit your signed orignal to the national office 8 weeks prior to the certification course (your letters of recommendation can arrive at a later date). If you are applying less than 8 weeks prior to the certification course, please email our national office (lindsey@danceadtc.com) to check availability.
  • Participate in an Interview - Once your application has been received, an ADTC Program Director will contact you to set up an in-person or over-the-phone interview that stresses empathy, leadership, conflict resolution and work ethic.
  • Receive CPR & First Aid Certification - After passing the interview, you will need to submit proof of CPR & First Aid Certification or intent to become certified prior to the course date. Note: For those of you who are not able to schedule a CPR/First Aid course in time, but are able to arrive a day early for our course, ADTC offers a CPR/First Aid certification course on the Friday afternoon/evening before each Instructor Certification Course.
  • Register for an ADTC Certification Course - If after your interview we feel you would make a great candidate for ADTC Instructor Certification, you will be invited to register for a certification course. You can download our printable registration form & fill it out on your computer or by hand - then email (lindsey@danceadtc.com), fax (866-383-2382) or mail (PO Box 14922, San Francisco, CA 94114) it back to us ASAP.
  • Study Training Materials - After registering for an ADTC Instructor Certification course, you will be mailed our Staff Training Manual. You are expected to review this manual and come prepared to talk about it during the course.
  • Attend Certification Course - You must demonstrate appropriate leadership, dance and movement skills to an ADTC Program Director or his/her representative during a certification course. All certification candidates will learn several ADTC routines, some of which you will present during a practical exam. Applicants hoping for Level 2/3 certification must also come prepared for a practical exam in which they will give a class in their own choreography.
  • Receive Certification - Upon passing the practical exam and completing the entire course, you become a Certified ADTC Instructor.
