Certification Basics
ADTC Instructor Certification is the process by which we ensure that ADTC staff are not only qualified by earned degrees and/or professional experience, but also by demonstrated teaching competence for the disciplines and levels they are teaching. Certification helps ADTC maintain a consistently high caliber of staff whose aggregate individual qualifications enable us to accomplish our mission.
ADTC Objectives for Certified Instructors
- Learn a new way of thinking about children and dance
- Understand developmentally appropriate practice in dance
- Learn new choreography in hip hop, jazz, theatre dance, etc. and effective teaching methods
- Learn how to assess children’s dance development and communicate this information to them (or their parents).
- Learn effective classroom management techniques for children and teens
- Learn how to design lesson plans with artistic energy flow.
