WHY KIMBERLY ROCKS
Kimberly Blosser grew up in New Jersey where she studied dance from the age of 5. She majored in dance at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she discovered a love for modern dance. During her years at WSU, Kimberly had the opportunity to study with guest artists such as The Martha Graham Company, Garth Fagan Company, B.J. Sullivan, and Gina Gibney. She also enjoyed working with accomplished classmates, including Chris Masters and Sonya Tayeh.
Kimberly was one of a few students invited to join the CounterGroove Dance Company as an apprentice, under the direction of her mentor, Erica Wilson-Perkins. After graduating in 2002, Kimberly relocated to Chicago, Illinois to continue training with Wilson-Perkins, serving as a teacher’s assistant and substitute at Colombia College. Kimberly also taught at Copeland Dance in St. Charles, where she enjoyed working with young dancers of all ages. Currently, she dances, choreographs, and teaches as a member of the Perfected Praise Dance Ministry at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park. She is also a Pilates instructor and teaches at From The Center in Chicago. Kimberly’s other interests include running and hiking. She is currently training to run in her third Bank of America Chicago Marathon. |
