ADTC Code of Conduct for Campers & Staff: It's as easy as ADTC!

Because we have appreciation for others, we respect and treat them as we want to be treated:
Your room is your home for the session. Campers are not to go into rooms that are not their own; not allowed to be in or walk through staff rooms; and not allowed to enter the Canteen unless invited by a staff member. Camp is a community. When a staff member is up front and raises his or her hand, everybody does the same. Never use booing to express your opinion. In the restaurant, always use good manners - never play with food, pound the tables, stand on chairs, or cheer when chairs fall. Don't waste food; eat all the food you take and drink all the drinks you pour.
Because we are dedicated and responsible, we do what is right and are accountable for our behavior:
Follow all safety rules inside and outside the dance studio. Never enter a program area unless an ADTC staff member is there to invite you in. No bare feet except at a pool area. All medications, including self-medications like advil, are kept in the Canteen; when in doubt, ask your counselor.
Know what to do in an emergency. If you hear a siren or a continuous bell, move quickly to the nearest exit and stay with your team in your assigned meeting location. Rear exits and fire extinguishers are for emergency use only.
Your health is important. Use sunscreen when you are out in the sun. Wear long pants and use bug spray in the evening. Do quiet and restful things during Siesta in your room. Wear clothes to meals - no swimsuits or wet clothes. The primary activity that should occur in your room after the team meeting is sleeping.
Help keep camp beautiful. Marking or defacing of camp buildings or nature is not allowed. No gum. Do not litter. No food utensils from the restaurant in your rooms.
Enjoy camp, dance classes, camp activities, and your surroundings while you are here. Remember: your first priority at ADTC should be to have FUN! Attend all your classes, and do new things outside the room during free time. Don't use portable entertainment devices or electronic games outside the room; use is limited to Siesta, "So You Think You Can Dance" practice and bedtime, at your counselor's discretion.

Because we are trustworthy, honest, have integrity, and make sure our choices match our values:
Always tell the truth. Choose appropriate activities and use appropriate language - no swearing. Theft will not be tolerated. Turn "found" items in to a staff member so they can be returned to their owner.
Because we care about others, are sensitive to their well-being, and helpful to others:
Always be sensitive to the feelings of others. If someone is physically or emotionally hurting, seek help from a staff member. Bullying, intimidation, or harassment of others will not be tolerated. Never resort to fighting to settle a dispute. In the restaurant, a community space, wait until cleanup begins to start cheers or songs, and always walk when leaving so others don't fall and get hurt.
